Make A Wish Visit 2010 What a great time we had recently with the wonderful kid’s from the Gold Coast “Make a Wish” foundation. A local organiser has been leading the kid’s up to Tamborine and to the JC base for a number of years. This year a huge number of kid’s watched an epic display from our JC BMX boy’s who volunteered their time to enthrall the children and parents. It is always sad to see youngsters unwell, but this lot sure knew how to put their woes behind them and have a blast. The event organizers had a packed 3 day program for the kid’s, reptile shows, presents, hiking, you name they had a crack at it. JC have a regular spot on the make a wish calendar and I think the JC crew love it as much as the kid’s do. It is not a Christian run event and we are restricted in what we can say, but you know JC, we always try to find a way to leave an eternal impact!   The kid’s arrived in two local buses made over to resemble old trams, as they gathered on the grass Andy introduced the JC team and then handed over to Aaron who was M.C. for the rest of the program. Our BMX riders threw down some epic passes with multiple tricks per pass, front flips, flip whips, barrel rolls, even landing the mighty double back flip! Several trains gave the crowd plenty to cheer about, these are a crowd and team favorite as 6 or more riders follow nose to tail with full trust in the rider in front and pull off back flips etc.   Then came the noise of the mighty Yamaha warming up and the kid’s went off as Jimmy threw down some the biggest FMX stunts known. Each time he went past the crowd he asked them scream louder and each time they obliged! The kid’s got Jim so wound up with their excitement that Jim pulled out not one but two epic back flips and one of them a combo, by now we had to pick up some of the parents who had keeled over from the lack of oxygen caused by all the screaming! The rest of us collected the voice boxes that were scattered all over the hill!
Caloundra On the 5th of June 2010 J.C. Epidemic entertained the crowds that attended the local college open day and fete with an amazing display of extreme FMX and BMX to end a very successful day for event organisers. On only his second outing as team M.C. young Aaron Parry pulled together an epic show telling the crowd of the meaning of JC and who they are and what they do. He also sang with fellow team muso Dave Baker to complement the program. In an incredible display of skill, JC team BMX riders Shannon Birch and Clint "Colonel" Bentley wowed the large crowd with an array of stunts and multiple trick passes including the epic front flip, to amp the crowd in preparation for the FMX show. True to form, and not to disappoint, the JC FMX riders turned out with their "A Game" in place and shredded Australia's largest portable landing ramp leaving everyone breathless. It was at this point that pro rider Jimmy Bartle stepped off his FMX bike and addressed the crowd sharing of his life and struggles, highs and lows in the pro moto cross racing circuit until God got his attention and began a life transforming journey that resulted in him becoming a dedicated christian and evangelist. Members of the crowd crossed the fence when invited, to seek more information about the relationship with Jesus that Jimmy spoke of. On the Sunday morning of the 6th JC attended the City Life Baptist Church and participated heavily in the mornings program. Pastor Rob interviewed members of the team to share an insight with the congregation of the vision that God gave the three directors to begin the ministry and how it has impacted lives as JC moves across this great nation.
Yeppoon Please click on the photo for the full story.  The Yeppoon leg of the 2010 Northern Tour saw the event held inside the local basketball auditorium. It was a BMX only event and the boy's started outside to get enough run up to boost high over the kicker and land inside and in-front of a large and very excitable teenage crowd. The night program was bolstered by static displays, the local bike shop had merchandise, Aunty Glor's smoothas coffees, and a variety of foods and drinks available. Yeppoon teens sure know how to scream and they had there vocals to a fever pitch by the time M.C. Andy amped them up a little. Local Open Gate pastors Mat and Sue hosted our team and looked after us superbly. They ran a fantastic event and now also have a good number of new Christians to follow up. We attended the Sunday morning service at Open Gate and enjoyed a very special time with Pastor Sue leading. Aaron shared his testimony and sang a few songs that really touched the congregation.
Townsville Please click on the photo for the full story. Townsville saw us join in as an outdoor pre event activity to the "Youth Alive" outreach program and then as an after the speaker "finale" for the night. Youth Alive was massive with hundreds of young people who really joined in and had a phattime. They took a lot more work from M.C. Andy to get them going but they eventually got into it, must be one of the country/city differences. Jimmy Bartle one of pro FMX riders stayed off the motorbike for the night and trieand Calvary Christian Churches for hosting us while in Townsvilled his hand as assistant M.C. for the evening. Andy promises that with practice he will get the gist of it.......judgement withheld!! No seriously he did a good job, for a FMX rider! Thank you to Townsville Baptist church.
